Engineering Leader, Technical Due Diligence (Renewable Energy)

A mission-driven Global Leader in independent engineering and technical advisory for the renewable energy industry is hiring for their Due Diligence Technical Advisory business in Latin America across Solar, Storage, and Wind projects.

The Engineering Leader will lead a highly collaborative team, at a point of real growth and opportunity across the region, but based out of Brazil. This is a high-profile, strategic position that offers a technically capable leader exciting scope in a Global business (Reporting to the Global Head of Renewables).

This role is based out of their established Sao Paolo, Brazil office, with business travel and work outside of the office as required. Excellent communication skills are required in Portuguese, plus English and Spanish to manage people in the region and collaborate internationally.

Core Responsibilities of the successful postholder:

  1. Oversee Engineering Due Diligence reviews and Technical Advisory initiatives for project financing and M&A transactions. Play a pivotal role in reviewing and innovating on cutting-edge operational strategies in pursuit of accurate assessments.
  2. Compile comprehensive IE and TA reports, integrating insights from multidisciplinary teams. Ensure top-tier quality and consistency in technical and commercial analyses to exceed client expectations.
  3. Manage and schedule internal resources. Ensure project deliverables stay on time, on target, and on budget.
  4. Mentor and train junior staff and assume responsibility for the internal growth of the team.
  5. Drive financial success with full P&L responsibility, developing and executing revenue and business plans while identifying growth opportunities in the region. Accountable for ensuring financial targets (revenue, profit, enterprise value, etc.) for Due Diligence are met.
  6. Anticipate customer needs by creating strong partnerships with Sales and Business Development.
  7. Work with lenders and developers as the main client interface for the business. Attend meetings, lead discussions, and build lasting partnerships.

Qualifications/skills of the successful postholder:

  • University degree (equivalent to a bachelor’s degree) in Engineering or related field.
  • An expectation of 10 years directly related experience in Renewables specifically in Solar, including at least five years of people management and leadership experience.
  • An excellent communicator to technical and commercial decision-makers, owners, operators, lenders, as well as to investors.
  • Excellent communication skills in English, plus Portuguese and Spanish.
